Litu, The Yearning Ones

“My love is as a fever, longing still
For that which longer nurseth the disease;
Feeding on that which doth preserve the ill,
The uncertain sickly appetite to please.
My reason, the physician to my love,
Angry that his prescriptions are not kept,
Hath left me, and I desperate now approve
Desire is death, which physic did except.
Past cure I am, now Reason is past care,
And frantic-mad with evermore unrest;
My thoughts and my discourse as madmen’s are,
At random from the truth vainly express’d;
For I have sworn thee fair, and thought thee bright,
Who art as black as hell, as dark as night.”

-William Shakespeare, “Sonnet 147”

Litu

The litu somewhat resemble particularly attractive tieflings, but rather than being the product of infernal influence on humans, they were originally the product of magical sexual acts in which an incubus or a succubus drains a mortal—usually a human—of as much sexual energy as possible in order to form an offspring with the power to siphon the orgasmic potency of others. However, due to the demonic nature of their creation, the litu are not able to generate the necessary degree of energy themselves, leaving them with a constant craving to drain it from others.

Relentless Ache

Litu are deeply sexual beings, and living siphons of orgasmic energy. As such, they are unable to create such power themselves and their intense libidos drive them to feed upon others to satisfy the need their body cannot achieve alone. Because their power is not one of creation, but of taking from others, it is fundamentally inefficient and requires draining far more ecstasy than the litu can actually utilize…in fact some of the frailer litu are unable to retain enough of the drained power to ever achieve relief themselves and are hopelessly doomed to lust for more. It is unknown what ultimately happens to the energy lost in the conversion.

Never Enough

The litu libido is intense and unrelenting, and they spend most, if not all, of their time with throbbing sexual frustration lurking at the edge of anything they do, urging them to feed. Even a litu who can store up a significant reservoir of power will be conflicted, as they are constantly tempted to use their power to satisfy their need or choose to deny themselves to keep as much as they are able. Momentary relief of their pent up desire involves subjecting another person to frustration of their own, and to match what a vigorous human could achieve daily without any difficulty would require feeding upon at least a dozen people and draining them all so dry that each would be depleted almost continually.

Walking Among Others

Because litu cannot produce the potential to orgasm themselves, they need to surround themselves with many people of other races to satisfy their needs. There have been rumors of groups of litu forming small communities that send out “hunters” to collect energy and distribute it to the group, but the level of discipline required to maintain such an undertaking would be immense. Wilder imaginations speculate that there may be secret enclaves that keep large stables of people to feed upon at will. Rumors aside, however, litu, who resemble tieflings to a fair degree, usually travel to large cities, especially those with libertine reputations.

Kinky By Nature

Most litu eventually learn to enjoy the sweltering desire they experience when they don’t have an ample supply of energy to drain. Others enjoy using their power to bend people to their will. Those unfortunate enough to be unable to store enough sexual energy to experience relief often either submit to sexual dominants or strive to impose their eternal frustration on someone who would submit to them. Whatever role they prefer, if they do dwell in a city, they tend to be well connected in at least one social circle that focuses on less vanilla sexual activity.

Litu Names

Litu usually have human names, but sometimes they assume or are given a more unusual moniker that reflects their exotic and sexual nature, or have a name derived from abyssal.

Feminine Abyssal Names: Atuge, Breiz, Caritress, Eisheth, Fostenyal, Gremory, Hisesi, Jaenryss, Niurta, Ophyria, Semyaza, Suriel, Tuchulch, Velpe, Zymyniar

Masculine Abyssal Names: Amaymon, Drendoth, Furfur, Gader’el, Ieton, Kasdia, Lohrvix, Rep, Surnax, Traleas, Utur-ut, Voxalor, Zitri

Sexual Names: Ache, Captivation, Desire, Forbid, Grope, Hole, Lust, Need, Passion, Ravish, Squirm, Throb, Whore

Litu Traits

Their fiendish creation grants litu a number of innate abilities.
    Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2 and your Wisdom score increases by 1.
    Age. Litu age at the same rate as humans, but old age does not show as visibly on them.
    Alignment. Litu are not inherently evil despite their heritage, though their need to feed upon others does cause many of them to lean towards more self-serving philosophies. Since their nature tends to make others suspicious, they usually learn a strong aversion towards law and order long before reaching adulthood, and thus they usually favor chaotic alignments—although some see their powers as a call to control others, so lawful alignments are not unheard of among the more sexually dominant individuals.
    Size. Litu are roughly the same size as humans, ranging from about 5 feet tall to over six feet. Your size is Medium.
    Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
    Aura of Awe. When you aren’t wearing armor and are either nude or wearing revealing clothing, your Armor Class is equal to 13 + your Charisma modifier. You may benefit from a shield as normal while using this armor class.
    Drain Sexual Energy. When a creature you are engaging in intimate contact with would have an orgasm, you can siphon the energy into yourself, healing a number of hit points equal to 1d12 + your Constitution modifier. Instead of experiencing the orgasm, the creature becomes unable to orgasm for 24 hours, but is not otherwise impaired sexually. You can use this ability once, and regain the ability to use it after a short or long rest. If you feed on the same creature every day for a week, the creature becomes unable to orgasm for one month.
    Fire Resistant. You have resistance to fire damage.
    Persuasive. You gain proficiency in the Persuasion skill.
    Sexual Energy Dependence. You are not able to orgasm unless you feed on the sexual energy of another creature. Each time you use your Drain Sexual Energy ability, you store enough to have one orgasm. You can store potential orgasms absorbed in this way for any length of time, however the maximum number of orgasms you may have stored is limited to your constitution modifier (minimum 0). If you use your Drain Sexual Energy ability on another litu, you drain all of their stored potential orgasms (minus the one they experienced during the feeding), adding them to your store. Any that exceed your maximum are lost. Furthermore, an incubus or succubus who is touching you can spend a bonus action to drain all of your stored potential orgasms directly.
    Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Abyssal.

Random Height and Weight

Base Height Base Weight Height Modifier Weight Modifier
4’8″ 110 lbs +2d10 x(2d4)

Variant Rule: Persistent Drain

If you wish to make it challenging for a litu to consistently feed without resorting to seducing strangers or maintaining a large harem of perpetually denied individuals, change the Drain Sexual Energy ability to the following:

    Drain Sexual Energy. When a creature you are engaging in intimate contact with would have an orgasm, you can siphon the energy into yourself, healing a number of hit points equal to 1d12 + your Constitution modifier. Instead of experiencing the orgasm, the creature becomes unable to orgasm for 24 hours, but is not otherwise impaired sexually. You can use this ability once, and regain the ability to use it after a short or long rest. Every seventh time you feed upon the same creature, they become unable to orgasm for one month instead. Every twenty-first time you feed upon the same creature, they become unable to orgasm for one year. You can still use this ability to drain some residual energy from a creature that is unable to orgasm, but you heal only 1d6 + your Constitution modifier and cannot retain enough energy in this way to store an orgasm with your Sexual Energy Dependence ability.
